Shiloh Domestic Violence Shelter and Services

California COVID-19 Rent Relief
CORONAVIRUS INFORMATION (COVID)
Provides rent payment assistance and utility payment assistance for both past due and some future payments. Assistance is for rent and utility payment dating back to April 1, 2020. Either the landlord or the tenant can apply for assistance.
Landlord Assistance
Landlords are eligible to receive a percentage of unpaid rent dating back to April 1, 2020 for eligible tenants, as long as they agree to waive the remaining percentage of unpaid rent for the assistance period.
Tenant Assistance
Eligible tenants whose landlords do not participate in the program can still receive a percentage of unpaid rent dating back to April 1, 2020. Paying a percentage of past due rent by June 30, 2021 can help keep tenants in their homes under the extended eviction protections provided in SB91. Eligible tenants can also receive future rent assistance equal to a percentage of their monthly rent through June 30, 2021.
Program also offers utility payment assistance for electricity, gas, water, and sewer. Eligible tenants may receive assistance for unpaid utilities and future payments. Unpaid utilities dating back to April 1, 2020, will be compensated at a percentage of the cost, limited to a total of 12 months.
The COVID-19 Rent Relief program is funded by the federal Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2021.

Provides financial assistance to low-income tenants impacted by COVID-19. Assists residents with past due rent, prospective rent (up to three months), and utility expenses. Funding is provided directly to the property owners or utility service providers.
Funding is limited to covering the lesser of:
- A period of no more than twelve months, or
- $15,000 per household
The Keep Oakland Housed ERAP re-launched the application period opens on April 1, 2021 and will close March 31, 2022 or upon expenditure of funds.

Free Wireless Plan Offers customers 250 free voice minutes and 250 free texts each month. Customer selects which cell phone provider to use (search available providers by zip code on website). There are no annual contracts or activation fees. Clients will receive a voice mail account, call waiting, caller ID, 911 Access, Nationwide Network coverage and clients can keep their current home or cell phone number.
